  I would highly recommend The George Inn in Finchdean. We had Sunday roasts and a beer battered cod fillet with skin-on fries. Our meals were extremely tasty...delicious gravy. The ambience is very relaxed with log fire and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely visit again in the future. Also, although not a lot vegetarian options, the vegetable tart was a great choice for one of our party. 👌

  Really nice cosy atmosphere with the fires burning. Food was very good with good choice on the menu and specials board. Friendly and attentive service from all the staff, especially Charlie (Chip) who made sure we had all we needed but never rushed us. Next time we’ll bring the dogs!

  Lovely catch up with a friend this evening. Great service from Chip , wonderful food and a stunning log fire. Definitely recommend and will be returning soon!

  Sunday roasts are amazing. Great service. Lovely location. They add service charge automatically but you can ask for this to be removed.

  The perfect local spot - highly recommended! As soon as you step inside, you feel the warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is super atmospheric and cozy and the music is just soft enough so you can still have a normal conversation. A huge shout-out to the staff (and even the locals!) — they are all incredibly friendly, attentive and make you feel like a regular the moment you walk through the door. Besides the excellent beers (especially the Staropramen & Madrí Excepcional on tap), the food here is a real surprise. The Superfood salad with sweet potato falafel was an absolute winner and a great choice for a light lunch... and even the sticky toffee pudding was an absolute masterpiece—warm, rich and drenched in (my additional choice) custard! Also came back on a Sunday for their "Sunday Roast" and was yet again not disappointed!! Their Trio of Roasts (Beef, Chicken, Pork) with all the extra's was out of this world! The portions are generous and the prices are more than reasonable for this quality. Five stars!! And to top it off... The George Inn is also dog-friendly! It is so rare to find a place that doesn't just "tolerate" dogs, but genuinely loves having them around. Conclusion - if you are looking for a hearty pub where you can both enjoy fantastic food and bring your dog along, look no further! The George Inn - Finchdean, Waterlooville is top-notch and a true gem! Kudos to Ben and his whole team!
