  I’ve been shopping at this Tesco for years, and I’ve honestly never known it to be like it has been over the past year. It’s upsetting because it used to be a really well-run store, but every time I visit now, I notice the difference. The first thing I notice is how often the shelves are empty and how untidy parts of the store can be. I know the colleagues are working hard because I regularly see the same people rushing around trying to do several jobs at once, but there just don’t seem to be enough staff anymore. It feels like every time someone leaves, they aren’t replaced, which means the remaining staff are left to cope with even more work while expectations keep increasing. As a customer, it’s obvious they’re under a lot of pressure. I’ve also witnessed behaviour on the shop floor that I found uncomfortable. On more than one occasion, I’ve seen a staff member, who I believe to be part of the management team, called Asha shouting and whistling at colleagues, and it didn’t seem like a respectful way to speak to people in front of customers. Another thing that has concerned me is hearing about the experiences of colleagues themselves. A few staff members have voiced to me conversations they’ve had with management after trying to raise concerns or share their opinions. They’ve told me they felt their concerns weren’t really listened to or acknowledged. As a customer, it’s worrying to see and hear that colleagues don’t appear to feel heard when they try to speak up. From my point of view, the management of the store doesn’t seem to be providing the support the team needs. I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, but as someone who shops here regularly, the decline in the store over the last year has been obvious. The staff seem stressed and unhappy, and it feels like they’re doing everything they can without having the resources or support to succeed. I’m writing this because I care about the store and the people who work there. The colleagues deserve better support, and customers deserve the standard of service Tesco is known for. I hope these concerns are taken seriously and that something is done to improve things for both the staff and the customers.

  I’ve been going to this shop for many years, I’ve got to know the staff well, they were happy, smiling, interacting with customers, making me and others feel welcome and I loved to shop here. It’s always been fun to shop there, a bit of banter here and there just really welcoming and fun. However it’s been noticed by me and several of my fellow customers how bad this shop has gone downhill drastically. The new manager the new staff are not what this shop needs. It’s changed for the worse. The original happy staff are now sad frustrated and seem generally unhappy. The floor is always dirty, the shelves always seem dirty and empty. There’s stock everywhere where it shouldn’t be. Those shutters outside are never up anymore. There’s bread and cages and those trolleys with stock on around the shop. The new lady is always shouting and running around and shouting at staff. The new lad looks miserable and never interacts and just looks like he doesn’t want to be there and the manager is never seen helping the staff out with putting stock out like I have seen with many other managers there do and also there seems to be very little staff about. Where’s all the staff gone? No wonder the staff that are there are sad and frustrated and yes I do talk to them and I’m aware of just how tired everyone is with the situation. Please sort it out Tesco get more staff in this shop and get those staff smiling again and get stock on those shelves, and sort your grubby shop out

  Being local to the area, I’ve shopped in this store for many years. I’ve always had a positive experience until the past few months. Credit to the staff that still serve with smiles on faces, but this shop has gone completely down hill. Shelves are rarely full, aisles are filled with stock and it is a complete and utter mess. I asked a young gent this week if he could kindly check to see if there was any eggs out back. To be told plain and simply no. He was very apologetic and advised he simply cannot even get through the door of the stock room. It is clear these people work extremely hard, but are fighting a losing battle. On this visit I even tried to buy a bottle of Modelo Lager and it turns out it was from a multipack and incorrectly chucked on the shelf. I now make the trip up to Witts Hill which in my opinion is ran much better.

  Shut from time to time during the evenings recently very boring for a local convenience store sort it out
