  Me and a friend of mine were on our way to Reading and we were starving. Unfortunately, our experience was not the best because the order took far too long (40min) which should not be the case. We only ordered chicken and a beef burger. The food was decent but definitely not worth waiting 40min especially after a long day. Once they delivered the food, they did not bring us any salt for the fries which my friend was expecting.

  The room was lovely but could have been cleaner and room service wasn’t done either. Breakfast was questionable with golden syrup being served the pancakes instead of maple syrup. (No body asked prior to dishing them up) , poached eggs were overdone, I had brown toast instead of white and apple juice instead of orange juice. Lunch was lovely and I’m told the chicken nuggets were amazing. Location was great and would stay again because what was wrong could be rectified with more attention to detail.

  Fabulous stay at The Poacher Inn, everything was perfect. Location ideal for a wedding and in a gorgeous setting, the room was cleaned and bed very comfy and the service was excellent! Great service by Lydia and AMAZING breakfast cooked by Doug! I asked for a surprise and he didn’t disappoint! Exactly what was needed after a good night partying at a wedding! Thanks guys, we will be back!

  I popped in with the family for a meal and it was amazing. The service was so attentive and any questions about food, the area and anything else were answered by the staff in a kind manner, the staff working were lovely and were having a conversation with all their customers which added to the friendliness of the pub making it feel more welcoming and not dull there was constant laughter between customers and staff which is never off putting as if shows it’s a good pub and there are regulars that enjoy the environment and food. The food was amazing there wasn’t a long wait on food and the staff ensured we had all the condiments we needed and checked to see if we were all ok and enjoying our food. The garden is a lovely area to bring dogs or for you to sit outside to drink or with children while they play on the slide and climbing frame they have. Overall it’s a very friendly environment and staff are so on it and attentive to everything you don’t go without a drink and they stand a make small talk when serving you, this was my first time coming and i will definitely be coming back again very soon.
