Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

We recently visited Greggs and had a generally good experience, with just a couple of issues.
We ordered chips and hot & spicy chicken, but unfortunately the chips were quite soggy and the chicken didn’t live up to expectations—it wasn’t particularly hot or spicy. That said, the chicken baguette and pepperoni pizza we also purchased were both perfectly fine and enjoyable.
On a positive note, the drinks were excellent and definitely a highlight of the visit.
One small inconvenience was that we couldn’t use the Greggs app due to lack of O2 mobile signal, both inside and outside the shop.
Overall, despite a few disappointments with part of the order, it was still a good visit

Your listed opening time for this branch is 5:00 AM; however, upon arrival at 5:05 AM, I was refused service.
Key Issues:
• Inaccurate Information: The staff members on duty (two males of Indian descent) informed me that the branch does not open until 5:30 AM, contradicting the advertised 5:00 AM start.
• Poor Professionalism: The staff appeared entirely indifferent to the situation. There was no apology for the discrepancy or effort made to assist a customer who clearly explained the time-sensitive nature of their request.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs
What are your opening times?
Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.
What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
