  Food was excellent, we had the wild mushroom pie. Service was really good, very accommodating to dietary requirements and also very welcoming and engaging. Highly recommend! Big thanks to Grace, Brooke, Simon, Allie for their service and hospitality!

  Stopped for late lunch on a miserable, rainy Wednesday. Almost empty so kitchen wasn’t rushed yet it still managed to overcook a steak sandwich and make the roll so crispy it disintegrated. Caramelised onions were the only things not overcooked and so were definitely not caramelised. Even the Croque Monsieur was crunchy. All appeared like it had been recooked and the bread rebaked. Think we were the only ones eating so more care could have been taken.

  Went for Sunday roast, very poor experience. Long wait for drinks and food. When we did get the food we had no cutlery to which we had to ask twice for and waiting 10minutes, by the some of the food had gone cold. When we were ready to pay, the same again. We had to wait a long time, in the end we had to get up and find someone to settle the bill. Shame as it’s a nice location but won’t be back after that :(

  Turned up late Sunday without booking greeted at door and had room available and table for a meal, room clean with everything you need nice evening meal and great breakfast. Staff all friendly. We needed to be close to hospital and it’s just 5 minutes down the road, easy access for walks in new forest.

  Came to The Filly for a Sunday roast, got seated outside by a dismissive host as we weren’t sure where to order, having never been here before. We then sat down without being shown to a table and we also had no menus on the table. We then waited for around 15 minutes for someone to come over, but this didn’t happen. I went inside to look for someone to order with, and went to the bar and ordered drinks. I asked the barman if its table service or if we order inside and he advised me to speak to a girl that I’m assuming was the manager as he didn’t deal with the food side of things, which was understandable. I then approached this lady, and asked her if I order inside or if its table service, this was the same lady that we saw when we walked in. She said she’d send someone over to take our order “in a minute”, so I went and sat back down. Another 15 minutes went by and still nobody had come out, or provided us with any menu. Luckily we already knew we want a roast, however, despite being patient, nobody came. We then noticed that a group of people had been brought their food, but no cutlery. They asked for cutlery, and was told it would be brought over. They sat with their food infront of them for 10 minutes until someone bothered to bring it over. I then approached another member of staff, and was told she’d be over in a second to take our order, I sat back down and we sat for another 15 minutes with nobody serving us, despite her being outside cleaning tables. We got up and left and decided to go elsewhere that actually bothers to serve their customers.
