  I had a very disappointing experience at Tesco Extra Andover recently. While I was paying for my shopping at the self-service checkout, the machine suddenly malfunctioned. My total bill was approximately £77. I had already inserted £40 into the machine and only had £37 left to pay when the problem occurred. One member of staff was helping me and was very patient and supportive throughout the situation. However, another employee approached me and said, “I didn’t see you put any money into the machine. Are you sure you inserted £40?” I was absolutely certain that I had inserted £40. I felt that my honesty and integrity were being questioned. I was very upset by this comment because I am an honest person and would never lie about something like this. I told her that I had paid the money and that she could check the CCTV footage if necessary. While the staff member who was assisting me continued to be patient and tried her best to help, the other employee went to check the CCTV with a security colleague. About five minutes later, she returned and asked me again, “How much money did you put into the machine?” Once again, I answered, “£40.” She then confirmed to the staff member helping me that I had indeed paid the money. However, despite questioning me twice and implying that I had not paid, she did not offer any apology. Shortly afterwards, the checkout machine started working properly again, and the £40 I had already paid appeared on the screen. The helpful staff member witnessed this and assisted me in paying the remaining £37. I am very disappointed with the way I was treated by the employee who questioned me. Customers should not be made to feel as though they are being accused of dishonesty simply because a staff member did not personally see a transaction take place. I hope Tesco will improve its customer service training and ensure that customers are treated with more respect and professionalism in the future.

  In this extreme heat I thought it wise to shop in the evening when it's cooler and quieter. What a waste of time. Shelves empty, freezer cabinets also empty / out of action. The state of the shop was awful with all the empty cardboard boxes strewn everywhere! To add to this the petrol station is closed for 7 weeks.

  This is actually a lovely Tesco with friendly staff and a great café. Unfortunately, the store is completely let down by Tesco as a business. They constantly push customers to use the Clubcard app, yet the in store WiFi is so unbelievably terrible that it’s practically impossible to use. I ran a speed test while in the store and was barely getting 1 Mbps, with nearly 900ms ping and around 400ms jitter. It genuinely takes five to ten minutes just to load the Clubcard on the app. That is beyond unacceptable in 2026. If Tesco insists on forcing customers onto a digital loyalty system, then at the very least they should provide internet that actually works. The current setup is a pathetic joke and desperately needs fixing.

  This is really for the delivery service. All the delivery staff are friendly and helpful. 5/5 We're moving and I just hope they are the same in Margate
