About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Extremely poor service for walk in customers. They may be busy at the drive through but an acknowledgement that you are actually there at the counter would be nice. No counter staff maybe? The chap in the que before me said he was clean shaven when he arrived ! I became fed up of waiting also, left and went instead to Waterloo Road Widnes. Where you will find; 'Superior Sandwiches' in name and in products. Super quick, quality service. Sandwich and a coffee to collect quick time. Proper Job. Greggs dive through...nawww 🫣

I have never received a hot patty from here, not even a warm one. In the end, I end up buying Margherita pizza because it only takes 2-3 minutes to make. It's disappointing to see management failing to maintain quality standards.

Toilets got mould around the sink and just genuinely gross. We arrived 5 minutes before breakfast ended but nobody came to the till to serve us until 11.01 and then refused breakfast, So i got a chicken bake expecting it to be warm, it was cold. I then went in and bought a sandwich which they refused to warm & the 3 young girls on the counter all turned there back to me and were whispering, presuming about myself. Had no salt or pepper and gave my partner a chocolate eclairs instead of a bavarian slice.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
