About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Toilets got mould around the sink and just genuinely gross. We arrived 5 minutes before breakfast ended but nobody came to the till to serve us until 11.01 and then refused breakfast, So i got a chicken bake expecting it to be warm, it was cold. I then went in and bought a sandwich which they refused to warm & the 3 young girls on the counter all turned there back to me and were whispering, presuming about myself. Had no salt or pepper and gave my partner a chocolate eclairs instead of a bavarian slice.

I have just sat down to eat my food and was really upset to find it was poorly put together, not warmed like it was advertised then to top it off, it had a hair right on top of the wrap as I opened the seal. I spoke to Joe at the front desk and he was lovely, apologised immediately and grabbed the shift manager. Upon first meeting the shift manager Darrell, I was really disappointed. He came up to the desk and he said “what is the problem” I removed the lid of my wrap and showed the hair, he said he couldn’t see it so I pulled it out of the wrap and explained it was not my hair colour. (This actually seemed to match the gentleman’s beard hair) He then said “what do you want me to do. Do you want a refund or a new one”. I did not receive an apology from him or an introduction. His tone was not acceptable as a shift manager, especially when receiving better service and support from the gentleman who served me beforehand. I hope this is seen to properly. Thank you again to Joe for appropriately addressing the issue with a polite attitude.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
