Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Without fail this Greggs is absolutely abysmal , went in today for a sausage roll and without fail the staff choose the most abominable items to serve , well past visually tempting, crushed , leaking everywhere or burnt , it goes in an oven how hard is it to click a timer , Cant even get a smile , today’s staff was miserable and purposely chose the most pathetic looking pastries to serve me and I didn’t even get good service it was a mumble and a scowl with an over cooked sausage roll , bought roughly 3:45pm should be embarrassed

Please do not put your hands inside the packages that food goes into! With those hands, you handle money and do all sorts of other things, and then they come into contact with the food - this is unacceptable

I'm not going to complain about the food being cold, because there is a schedule for when it's heated, but overall the stock is pretty poor. There's very little of every product whenever I'm here, and sometimes there's none of some products, despite it often being so busy here. Meanwhile the Caernarfon location has far better stock, everything is restocked multiple times through the day. I know the drinks are very rarely restocked here and when I ordered a sausage bean and cheese melt they had been sold out so I had to wait. That would be completely fine, it was busy, but when they brought out the next batch there were only five? On top of that, they were all sold out instantly, I'm confused why they didn't bake a whole batch. Cleanliness is also a major issue, both in the bathroom and the tables being covered in crumbs and rarely cleaned. At least the staff are polite.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
