Went here quite late last night, with my eyes heavy and my incessant hunger gnawing at me. I ran straight to the shelves to grab some pineapple. Shamefully, due to my ravaging hunger I planned to eat the fruit with my hands alike a cave man who had not yet known the warmth of fire. Luckily my trip was made when a staff member called Janice, offered me a fork for free, and with excessive love and kindness. I will forever remember this trip, due to her. I recommend a raise or a promotion.

Very helpful staff, advised me of what the best way to sort out my boots was. Good price, especially considering the free advice.

Aldi’s system is far smarter than Tesco’s. Tesco opens at 6 a.m., but the staffed checkout lanes aren't open—only the self-checkout kiosks are available. I found it incredibly difficult to use the self-checkout after spending over £150. It naturally makes me think of Aldi. Aldi employs a hybrid system: while customers buying small amounts use the self-checkout, staff naturally open a regular checkout lane when a customer with a large load arrives, then return to self-checkout duties once that transaction is complete. Tesco should look beyond just comparing prices with Aldi and instead adopt their smarter operational system. However, the staff were friendly, so I gave it 3 stars.
