  Restaurant is nice, staff are friendly but they seem to be grossly understaffed. Food came out in fits and spurts and was told "it's your fault as you ordered meals with chips".. charming But it was either overcooked or undercooked The Korean chicken burger I had was terrible really, it was a tiny unseasoned chicken breast, but I'd say no bigger than a £5 note folded in half, it was tiny and not what a Korean chicken burger is. Steak was way overcooked as was the fish The chips were either burnt or undercooked and hard. We didn't order desserts as we didn't want to pay out anymore money Owner took out sons meal off the bill, but considering 5 out of the six barely ate their food I think that was a bit out of order, considering it wasn't cheap. Shame but think they overstretched themselves but we wouldn't recommend going here unless they do something to change it.

  I was a little apprehensive about visiting for lunch after reading some of the recent comments, however from the moment we walked in we were welcomed with a smile and chatty bar staff, couldn’t fault the beer, staff or food , great lunch and catch up with family, will definitely visit again when back in the area. 5/5 from us . Thank you 🙏

  Awful. A poor selection of beers badly kept, so much so that we had to return the first pint and then settle for a couple of almost undrinkable Timothy Taylors. Food is over-priced and included badly cooked oven chips and supermarket pies (no, seriously, the 'special' was a Pie Minister 'Beer and Deer' that you can get in Waitrose for a fiver. Menu items crudely struck through with a biro, including a whole section of bar snacks which were apparently permanently off. Looking at other reviews, that was the case at least 5 months ago and they still haven't bothered to print new menus. At one point we asked for a crémant, "rosé or normal?" came the reply, "normal please" we said, at which point the waitress/manager announced "OK, one prosecco". Whether they had any crémant we'll never know. Whether she knows what it is, likewise. There are stacks of great pubs in the Cotswolds; this is not one of them.

  My family and two wider family members stayed at the Bathurst Arms to attend an event in the village. Our rooms were booked by the event host. On arrival, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the carpets in the hall and in our room. I also found a sticky stain inside our room's kettle which I spent some time washing out. The bed linen, bath towels and bathroom were clean and well presented. On the following morning we were not offered a cooked breakfast. Instead we were presented with a croissant each, some dry toast, cereal and uninspiring yoghurt. The staff said this was as advertised (which in fairness we had not seen before booking) and not provided as it would not be "cost effective". I was therefore somewhat surprised to be be billed £228 for our double room with the wider members of my family, including two single 80+ OAPs, all paying over £200 for two single rooms and one twin room. The Bathurst Arms is in a lovely location and has a captive audience as the only hotel and pub within walking distance of North Cerney. I would expect far better for any hotel at that cost regardless of its location. And especially one with a 4 Star label on Google

  We were utterly rinsed at this guest house. We were staying for my sister-in-law's 50th birthday and as the pub is her local she booked four rooms for me and my sons and for two other parties attending the celebration. Unfortunately we did not check the rate but assumed that my sister in law had. All the rooms were charged at over £200 p.n. even those with single occupancy. Once upon a time the rooms had been nicely decorated, but were now looking tired and even worse, dirty. The carpet in the bedroom I slept in had black stains all over it and dead bluebottles as a decoration. The corridor carpet was also filthy. The bedlinen and towels were clean. The breakfast was a croissant, a piece of toast and cereal, accompanied by a total of 2 butter portions for four people who had just spent nearly £500 on one nights accommodation. I (not realising the room rate at this point) asked if there was a cooked breakfast option and was told that it was not cost effective to ask the chef to come in early. Must be a cheap rate I thought, but no, what she meant was that our entire group had spent nearly £900 at her business for one night's stay and it was not cost effective to provide a cooked breakfast. This is despite there being four other members of staff on duty. I have looked at the other reviews for this business and literally can't believe my eyes in how they are so different from my experience. We were all utterly disgusted, but as we did not check the room rate prior, have no real recourse.
