Called in for a drink and maybe to eat. Stood waiting to be served only to be told to go into the other bar. Listened to somebody ordering food and they were told it would go on a tab so that the order didnt go through to the kitchen as they were a bit busy and another order would confuse the kitchen. So we had a drink and left. Bizarre

Lovely outside seating disappointed with the roast as only given two roast potatoes that amounted to half a potato.

Nine of us had Sunday lunch. We ordered at 3pm and perhaps suffered poor quality food. My roast chicken was just a leg, no breast. The vegetables were tired and overcooked. I had only two small roast potatoes that were dry and not crispy. A disappointing meal

Just stopped off for a drink. Good choice. Beautiful old building, large garden with plenty of seating in front, plenty of shade on a hot day.

The staff are very pleasant but the reality is that the rooms are tiny, very tired and dirty. We had to wipe down the dust in the room after we had arrived. For over £180 a night, you can find much better elsewhere. The breakfast is also very disappointing - rock hard stale croissants, bad coffee, concentrate apple juice. PremierInn would have been much better quality and value.
The location is good, very pretty near the river, and the staff are friendly - but it is incredibly over-priced. Be careful.
