  Went shopping tonight I received a 5 Star service with smiles Firstly Susan who was stacking shells, I twice asked her where different products were, she stopped what she was doing to help me straight away. Secondly Lola at the tills, we talked about The Kinks song ‘Lola’.

  What makes this branch special is the staff: always friendly and cheerful. That goes for the security staff, checkout operators, shelf stockers, and cleaners, The shop, though large, is made human by the employees. I don't know about the managers, but I do hope they are proud of their people. (I am not an employee of Tesco Ltd.!)

  Seeing as its so difficult to make a written complaint, I shall post it here. I am writing to make a formal complaint about the consistently poor experience I have when shopping at my local Tesco store. Unfortunately, almost every visit leaves me feeling stressed, unwelcome and as though I am an inconvenience rather than a customer. The main issue appears to be the attitude and conduct of some members of staff, particularly those carrying out home shopping orders. The home shopping staff frequently work in groups, blocking aisles with their trolleys and making it difficult for customers to access products. Rather than showing consideration, I often feel expected to move out of their way while they continue working. They regularly push past customers and create an atmosphere that makes me feel as though I should not be there. Last week, I asked a home shopping colleague where I could find a particular item. Instead of speaking to me, he simply rolled his eyes, picked the item up, pushed it into my hand quite aggressively, turned around and walked away without saying a single word. I found this incredibly rude and disrespectful. Today's visit was equally disappointing. I was using a self-service checkout when the red assistance light came on. Two different members of staff walked past me several times while helping other customers, despite my light clearly flashing. When a third colleague eventually came over, she fixed the issue without acknowledging me, keeping her back turned throughout. When I politely said that I felt invisible after being overlooked for so long, she responded by giving me a very unpleasant look before walking away without saying anything. I appreciate that retail staff work under pressure, but basic courtesy and respect towards customers should not be too much to expect. I should not leave a supermarket feeling ignored, unwelcome and uncomfortable every time I shop there. I currently shop at this Tesco purely because it is the most convenient store for me. However, after these repeated experiences, I have reached the point where I will no longer be shopping there. I intend to use another supermarket instead, even though it does not stock some of the products I usually buy. I would genuinely rather go without those items than continue shopping somewhere that leaves me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I would also like to add that these experiences have become so frequent that I have started to question whether there is a wider issue with the culture and customer service standards at this store. I sincerely hope this is investigated, as no customer should feel the way I have been made to feel simply for doing their shopping. I would appreciate a response outlining what steps Tesco intends to take to address these concerns.
