Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Greggs feels so much better since the update. The space in the shop is fantastic now, making it much easier to move around, and the extra food options are a great bonus. I really enjoy grabbing the potato wedges with a coffee for lunch, and the pepperoni pizza is easily one of my other favourites.

I’ve visited Greggs many times over the years, but the recent update has really taken it to another level. I’m absolutely loving the new hot food options the soup, macaroni and cheese, and potato wedges are all great additions and make the place feel much more inclusive. It’s especially ideal for lunchtime, giving teenagers and anyone looking for something hearty far more choice than before. Even the space in the shop is so much better.
I also recently noticed the matcha drinks on the menu, which was such a pleasant surprise. And as the finishing touch that pulls everything together the small ice cubes genuinely make a difference. You almost never find proper small ice in coffee shops; it’s usually huge clunky blocks that ruin iced drinks and don't go cold fast enough.
So thank you for keeping this detail consistent for the iced coffees and the new matcha drinks it really elevates the whole experience.
On top of all that, the staff are always welcoming and patient, even during the lunchtime rush. You can tell there’s a real effort to make customers feel comfortable and looked after. (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑) 🥖🍞🥐🥨🥪🥯 ☕︎

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
