We had a lovely time at Ask Italian. A couple of our friends were visiting from Spain and we decided to take them here for dinner. We booked a table for 20:30 on Saturday 29th August. When we arrived, the restaurant was moderately busy, with a large party on one side and a few tables of 3 and 4 dotted around the other side. We had to wait a couple of minutes for our table to be ready as it seemed like there were very few floor staff. We were seated soon after at a nice clean table and given the complimentary lemonade. Our server was a young guy with glasses - the receipt says Keni, but I'm not sure whether that was just who printed the receipt! - who was really friendly and welcoming from the get-go. He took our drinks order - a couple of aperol spritz, a large peroni and some water - and the bar made it nice and quickly. It was brought by a young girl busser/server, she was lovely. One member of our party has a few dietary restrictions at the moment, so our server told us the manager on duty Val would be over as she was able to advise about allergens, cooking oils, etc. Val came over soon after to take our order and was excellent. She was really nice and was able accommodate my friend's dietary requirements. My friend was absolutely delighted that she was able to get a good meal that wouldn't cause her any issues. Our food arrived relatively quickly and was very good. I had the beef brisket pappardelle, which was very tasty, albeit a slightly small portion for £18.50 in my opinion. We also ordered the chicken orzotto and a primavera pizza, which were thoroughly enjoyed. My friend with the dietary requirements was able to get plain fresh curly pasta with some plain grilled chicken, peas, green beans, oregano and extra virgin olive oil in separate ramekins. Two of us went on to have dessert - the caramel chocolate torta (apparently fully vegan if you don't get the salted caramel ice cream that it comes with!) and the baileys tiramisu - which were very nice. In total, we paid £119.50, which I found quite reasonable. Tl;dr Very good service from Val and Keni and other staff, great flexibility with dietary requirements, reasonable prices overall though some fresh pastas are perhaps on the smaller side. Would definitely recommend. ¡Muchas gracias! from our Spanish visitors :)

This restaurant is beautiful! It’s just across the street from the Holiday Inn Theatreland and had a multitude of vegan options from appetizers to desserts. The service was wonderful and our server was very nice, even when a drink was accidentally spilled. We ordered drinks, appetizers and main dishes and all were delicious! Here’s what we ordered: Vegan Pesto & Cheese bites, vegan garlic bread, vegan cheesy garlic bread, vegan Spaghetti al Pomodoro, vegan Fettuccine Lentil Ragu, and the (non-vegan) Lasagne. Everything tasted so fresh and if in the area again, we’d definitely be back!
