Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Not sure how else to thank this young lady, we ordered through Just Eat and the plank of a delivery driver picked up a Subway and brought us that without checking. I rang Greggs and spoke to a lovely girl who bless her wasn't sure what to do coz she was covering and can't order another driver so my husband just went to get it. She was on her own and covering!? She apologised, was super friendly and even offered doughnuts to say sorry haha. Anyway, should be recognised for her kindness and for bossing it on her own.

This is my local Greggs, and I must say they serve delicious, warm food that perfectly caters to British people’s taste buds! Sausage rolls, toasties, baguettes... and so much more! They also have a great breakfast.
The only thing I’ll have to take away is that they almost always have nothing in stock in the Hot to Go section nowadays, which is a shame because they usually have delicious chicken goujons and even mac and cheese on the shelf.
As for the service? The service is very swift, and they’ll warm your food up in just a few minutes. The staff is very friendly.
And finally, the atmosphere! This is located in a new Kay Group Centre, so the atmosphere is very comfy and modern. How delightful!

Had a coffee at Greggs whilst out for the day. We were served by a lovely young lady who was very helpful. Unfortunately they were short on certain cup sizes and had to put a coffee between a few cups but this was no problem for us, however other customers were quite hostile towards the poor young woman. We wanted to leave a review as despite confrontation with others she remained professional and very friendly. Lovely coffee.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
