  Amazing views and service, but massively disappointed to spend £20 on a Sunday dinner for it to taste awful and to then find multiple hairs whilst eating it.

  Went for a late lunch not looking at the reviews (I should have!). Had a salad with top up sirloin, asked it to be medium rare. Waitress arrived, throwing plates to my table and advising I should get cutlery back at the bar. Steak was well done, like warm from a microwave, why bother cooking when you can throw in some leftovers 🙄 Maybe drinks are good but I wouldn't risk to eat there. One star for the food, zero for staff manners, two for the garden. Thanks for everything, will avoid it next time.

  We booked on the day for a group of 12 with a mix of adults and children. We were greeted with friendly staff and shown to our table. We were attended to straight away by a waitress called Stephanie who went above and beyond for us all throughout our visit. Our orders were taken quickly and arrived cooked to perfection thanks to chefs. The food was lovely and exactly as requested with some changes taken into consideration. Our waitress Stephanie made the time to speak effortless with the little ones at our table and also picked up that we had an adult member who found it very difficult to speak due to autism, but smiled and just made him feel comfortable. Had a great evening. Lovely birthday meal, thank you!

  Visited yesterday on the Spring bank holiday, in record temperatures, and ended up walking out without eating. We specifically chose this place for a quiet meal away from the crowded seaside and beach, booked 6pm, and I called ahead two hours before to confirm outdoor seating; the manager himself assured me tables were available outside. On arrival, the garden was almost empty at what should have been peak time on a bank holiday weekend, with only two umbrella tables, both filthy with used glasses and bottles. The umbrellas were small, fixed and useless for shade with the low evening sun. I asked for a table in the shade or an extra umbrella; the manager refused and insisted there were more than two umbrella tables, which simply wasn’t true. Teenagers were playing football only metres away, and no staff accompanied us outside or cleared the table. We sat for about 20 minutes at a dirty table with no menus, no water and no acknowledgement from anyone. When I went back inside to complain, the manager said he “had no time” to deal with it because he had a restaurant to manage – this, in a restaurant that was almost empty. Only at that point did he offer to clear the table himself. If the manager is personally clearing tables only after a customer complains, and clearly annoyed at the most basic requests for hospitality, that says a lot about how badly the place is being run. At that stage there was no point even trying to eat there. We left without eating and the evening was ruined. A detailed complaint to head office later produced only generic template replies and a flat refusal to offer any compensation. After this, we will not be returning.

  Loved it here!! It's a Beefeater, yes, but one of the better ones it has to be said. We were staying a short distance away and this place was the perfect watering hole, good food, good drinks (can thoroughly recommend the pina coladas, knocked back quite a few of those!!), and the staff were really friendly and efficient too. There is a small fly in the ointment however inasmuch as the parent company of Beefeater have slated this place to close as of September 2026, so if you wish to enjoy what the place has to offer best to do it soon. It's position is perfect for admiring the surrounding countryside from the beer garden, which is spacious and a real sun trap!! We have learned also that although it is to close as a Beefeater it will remain in some shape or form as a restaurant but under what name remains to be seen. For now, go and enjoy what they have to offer, it's very good in an ideal position, and don't forget to try the pina coladas, they're VERY tasty!!
