  Trying to order a simple cup of tea whilst waiting for some keys to be cut shouldn't be that complicated should it? Welcome to Tesco cafe. As now whats becoming more & more of an automated society to enable the banks to get richer, ordering is via touch screens before you enter the cafe. I wanted to pay cash so bypassed the screens & headed for the counter with the sign CASH PAYMENT ONLY. PLEASE ORDER AT THE KIOSK. Kiosk? What kiosk? Apparently the kiosk is the touch screens that I had just walked past 🤷 I was told to go back & place my order on the touch screen & when it comes to payment, select cash. Then come back to the counter, hand over my receipt with what i'd ordered & make my cash payment. Why does everything have to be more complicated than it needs to be?! I only had 20 or so mins so asked for my cuppa to be put in a take away cup. When it arrived I allowed it to brew & then when it came to removing the teabag, another issue... no wooden stirrers or teaspoons available or bins to ditch the teabag into. I had to ask a member of staff who looked a bit confused but took my cup off to the kitchen to bin the teabag. Seems to me that Tescos dumb ideas are putting people off using their cafe & the global move to replace people with automated screens is only going to have a negative effect on peoples ability to earn a living. At least the shareholders are coining it in. But having to use touch screens with no hand sanitisers available is putting us all at risk. Have we learned nothing from covid? Apparently not.

  First visit to this cafe, waited over30mins for our breakfast with three young children. I think they have forgot our order in the first place. Been chasing the order and was told we are the next to be served but realised those customers came later than us had their food before us. We don’t mind waiting but at least admit their mistake. To be honest, customer service in the ordering counter was brilliant, food was okay but the serving service from kitchen is BAD!
