Nice place to grab a drink. Incredible old 15th century timber frame. The building is so atmospheric. Its not hard to imagine the centuries of drinkers, the historic events and changes that this pub has seen. Right on the grounds of the church with the graveyard as its rear beer garden. A covered walkway into the grounds. King Harold II is buried out the back after his ill fated battle of Hastings depited in the Bayeux tapestry. Its good that this boozer was saved from being permanently closed as an historic building to the public, important social hub and resource for locals / visitors. If you are visiting the area it is well worth a stop and having a drink, if only to keep places like this existing, thriving and alive.
Have not tried the food so can't rate.

Lovely pub, good atmosphere, Great prices.
Just a shame the bar staff haven't been trained in how to pour a good pint of Guinness, not easy but so worth it.
