  Nice pub inside and handy for the train station. However, the food was terrible. It was clearly bought in frozen and had very little flavour. The lasagne was also very small. Service was a bit random

  What a great little pub. Food was just what we needed after our flight. LOTS of signs in the car park AND pub regarding the parking so I’m not sure how anyone can miss it!

Here’s a refined version of your review: Rating: ⭐⭐ (2/5) Review: The pub advertises that its kitchen closes at 8:30 PM, but when I arrived at 8:05 PM, I was told the kitchen was closed by the staff members standing around chatting/on their phones. The pub was half empty. This was disappointing, especially since I had specifically chosen this pub with the expectation of enjoying a meal. A heads-up about the early closure would have been appreciated.

  Use to absolutely love this place, it’s a local and the staff were always great but the parking situation has become semi ridiculous. It’s like you’re have to practically check everytime you go in or you’ll get fined. Before it was you can park but need to enter your reg. After that they said no we’ve stopped that now and I’d check multiple times and ask, it would be the same answer that you don’t need to now. Now all of a sudden it’s back again. Word of warning beware because even if you have genuinely been at the pub you’ll get a £100 fine! They don’t use cameras to see who’s gone in they just randomly fine, whether you’re a customer or not. Trying to resolve with management now as I had a leg injury and needed the close car park for the pub so I’ll update but just sharing so no one else gets fined for genuinely being at the pub. 🤷‍♀️

  Beer garden filthy from previous night at midday No acknowledgement from the staff on arrival Staff staring at phones throughout Had to prompt staff about reservation No instructions given on how to order No orders taken at table Barman sat comfortably on a stool doing nothing Uncollected glasses on tables throughout Filthy floors - like really filthy Debris all over floors Some customers shown to tables, some pointed to tables, some told to sit anywhere. Some had orders taken at table, some had to order at bar Untrained junior inexperienced staff Haphazard uniform standards Food: Cold Old tasting potatoes Hard, microwaved chicken Packet Yorkshire puddings (?) Hard undercooked parsnips Undercooked pigs in blankets No follow up about how is the food Never collected the plates, or glasses or asked if we wanted desserts or coffee Never said goodbye or thanks for coming ‘Lurch’ the general dogsbody with the shaggy unkempt hair completely clueless on customer service, not even any idea whether we had a tab or paying as we went even though he stood at the card machine when I paid (was he stoned??) Salt and pepper in paper packets is so cheap looking Emptiest place in town for Sunday lunch for good reason I should never have taken someone’s recommendation to eat here, I can only imagine she hates me. Fewer things in life are more certain than death, taxes and Paul Ashurst never eating or visiting this dump again.
