About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I often use this Greggs as a pitstop during my cycle rides. The meal deals offer outstanding value, and the staff are consistently amazing. If there were a bit of space for seating, it would be absolutely perfect.

So I walked in and the first thing I see is the cashier pushing a woman out of the shop and screaming at her. This cashier, who I later found out was named Judith, then proceeded to tell me that I looked ugly and punched me in the gut. As I collapsed on the floor, she continued her verbal assault me whilst simultaneously kicking my ribs repeatedly until I lost consciousness. I awoke strapped to a pole outside in the freezing cold, completely nude and with deep cuts all along my body. Judith entered my vision from the shadows wielding a sharp blade and with a snide grin spread across her face. She approached and whispered into my ear "This is for being a lesbian" and plunged the blade into my throat. A deep chuckle erupted from Judith's throat as I slowly crumpled to the floor, blood seeping from my wound. Overall, food was average and service was lacking.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
