About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Consistent missing items when ordering through external app, never a problem going in. Your average Greggs.

Went into Greggs today. Grabbed a baguette and some wedges without realising that I get a free drink with it. The lady who served me was really rude. I asked if I could just grab the drink on my way out but was informed I couldn't and that the drink needed scanning. When I went to get a drink, my mum who was queuing and waiting to be served told me that the lady who had served me rolled her eyes at me. When I came back the lady proceeded to be really passive aggressive and made me feel really uncomfortable. I was happy to just pay for my food and get going. I had my hands full with bags and I didn't want to keep people waiting. As someone who suffers with anxiety, this was a horrible experience for me.

Absolute 5 out of 5, my 2 year old spilled our drinks everywhere, and was really upset, and the lovely lady was so helpful and sweet about it, and made her smile again. I come in her often and the staff are definitely the best around. Foods always great too.

The team members were lovely, but not the General Manager. She shouted us for no reason, still don’t know why, we tried to stop the convo and leave but she proceeded to have a go us for some reason for 20 minutes. I caught her name before I left, it was Agi or something like that, she was the general manager.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
