I ordered the fish and chips. The photo was brilliant, showed lovely bit of fish garnished with lemon. What was served on plate was god awful. First, its not shaped like a conventional fish, it had a main part separating into two fins. It was mostly batter and when you found the actual fish it was inedibble. Awful.

This cafe used to be 5 stars, but since the change of tills & staff, it has gone right downhill. I feel sorry for the staff too, they r so busy sometimes, the old staff & way was better & used to be more friendly.

Try to go to the Thurrock cafe in Tesco as they are quicker and the service is better as is the food, I find the staff can be quite rude at rainham, asked the guy for a cloth he informed me he would do it when he could as he was on his own, still waiting 20 minutes later
