- Aİbrahim AtıcıAug 27, 20261.0Hello, I would like to make a formal complaint regarding an upsetting and unacceptable incident that occurred at Tesco Maldon on 27 August 2026 at approximately 10:30 pm, near the tills. I attempted to purchase beer and provided valid identification. Despite this, the female member of staff refused to serve me and then proceeded to argue with me in front of other customers. I found her manner extremely disrespectful and embarrassing. I fully understand that Tesco staff have a responsibility to follow the law and company policies when selling alcohol. However, even if there was a reason to refuse the sale, I do not believe there was any justification for the way I was spoken to or for having a confrontation with me publicly in front of other customers. I would like Tesco to investigate this incident thoroughly, including reviewing the CCTV footage from the tills at around 10:30 pm, if available. I would also like to know the specific reason why the sale was refused despite me providing valid identification. I expect customers to be treated with courtesy and respect, and I do not feel that this happened in this situation. Please take this complaint seriously and provide me with a written response explaining the outcome of your investigation and what action, if any, will be taken regarding the staff member’s conduct. I look forward to receiving your response. Kind regards

- JHJudith HopeAug 2, 20265.0We shop here often and it's usually good. There is sometimes not enough staff and when there are dead and dying plants out the front I want to just walk away. Why stock them if you aren't going to look after them? It's a waste of time effort and resources and plastic pots and lovely little plants. Don't tell her they don't end up in landfill!
