About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I have been in many Greggs but I haven’t see a dirty floor like that. It just put you off from having any drinks or food.

Visited the factory outlet Greggs this afternoon approximately 3.40 tues 10th March. The young man that served us asked what we wanted we asked him what hot drinks were available. He turned and pointed to the coffee machine behind the counter and said “what’s on there”. I found his attitude very rude and the fact that the writing on the machine is so small we couldn’t even see it properly. We both ordered hot chocolate as we knew they definitely serve this. We then picked two cakes one apple doughnut with icing on the top and one split chocolate eclair. Instead of putting these in a box he put them in a paper bag. These had stuck to the inside of the bag and were difficult and messy to get out. I have never been in a Greggs with such bad customer service and rudeness. I think this person needs training in customer service and needs to learn some manners.

We must be one of Greggs best customers but who ever designs the layout of the stores as in the new waterglade didn't do any research regarding seating layout sun position and wasted space. This shopping village site would have better suited in the old Burger king space that became vacant.Perhaps they should also work out how much money thay have lost over the past year due to two broken chairs (A screw missing) being removed. I offered to do the screws up but told we were not allowed to. Perhaps staff also might speak to those who we call selfish seaters taking over the soft seat side by side preventing people from sitting opposte them by placing bags on them.During lock down we supported all closed stores we normally use and counted 80 recycled cups in a month.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
