Unfortunately, I recently had a very unpleasant experience with him that I feel needs to be addressed. I asked for a vegan sausage roll, as I do not eat pork. Rather than simply taking my order, he appeared to mock my request. He repeatedly pretended to mishear me, asking on three separate occasions whether I wanted a regular pork sausage roll, each time with what seemed to be a smirk on his face. Despite my clearly stating that I wanted the vegan option, he proceeded to bag up a pork sausage roll. At this point, I became extremely frustrated. While I acknowledge that my response may have come across as abrupt, I was upset by what I felt was a deliberate lack of respect for my dietary choice and a dismissive attitude towards me as a customer. I found the entire interaction unprofessional and unnecessary. Customers should be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of their dietary preferences. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, and I hope appropriate action is taken to ensure other customers do not have a similar experience.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
