About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Rude customer service by the lady behind the till, which has refused heating up cold pizza on the display, explaining that it is a "company policy" to not reheat it. Why am I spending almost £4 pounds for a slice of pizza if it can't be heated up ! I can see so many complaints regarding customer service, I guess that person doesn't belong in a customer service sector at all, and needs to be sacked !

Over the past few weeks, I have noticed a new member of staff working at this location. Unfortunately, I recently had a very unpleasant experience with him that I feel needs to be addressed. I asked for a vegan sausage roll, as I do not eat pork. Rather than simply taking my order, he appeared to mock my request. He repeatedly pretended to mishear me, asking on three separate occasions whether I wanted a regular pork sausage roll, each time with what seemed to be a smirk on his face. Despite my clearly stating that I wanted the vegan option, he proceeded to bag up a pork sausage roll. At this point, I became extremely frustrated. While I acknowledge that my response may have come across as abrupt, I was upset by what I felt was a deliberate lack of respect for my dietary choice and a dismissive attitude towards me as a customer. I found the entire interaction unprofessional and unnecessary. Customers should be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of their dietary preferences. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, and I hope appropriate action is taken to ensure other customers do not have a similar experience.

Cold pizza & sausage rolls, when asked if she could heat it, was just told “No we can’t!”. Terrible customer service. Threw the food in the bin on leaving as no idea how long it had sat there. Definitely won’t be going back!!

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
