  I've used Churchill's twice in the last couple of weeks, having occassionally done so in the past. A couple of weeks ago we called in for fish and chips, ordering one of them gluten free. It was a very long wait for them and then after they gave us the order and I'd started eating it I realised they hadn't included the ordered mushy peas so had to go back in to get them. Last night, however, because of the long wait previously, I pre-ordered online in the hope of avoiding the delay. Turned up at the time the app said it would be ready, went in and asked for it and the person at the counter found the slip of paper about the order and confirmed they had it. Nearly 20 minutes later I pointed out I was still waiting and they finally communicated that it was on the way - no one had spoken to my up to that point. A few minutes after that they did provide the order (I won't say served because that would imply a degree of service, and there was none) but no apology, no real communication and certainly no smile or anything from the person. I took them out to the car to eat them only to find there was no salt and vinegar despite the ordering process specifically asking about them and my including them in the order - so another trip inside only to be told that they didn't do sachets for gluten free, but I hadn't taken my wife's gluten free food in with me. After I'd finished eating I went back in and said the food was very good but they really needed to improve communication, pointing out that totally ignoring customers who are waiting, keeping them waiting for 20 minutes beyond the time they stated without any communication or apology is just not acceptable. The people behind the counter clearly didn't care less, still saying nothing and just looking blankly. The person I assumed was the manager came to the counter and told me to leave because I was being rude. I did point out I was not being rude, I was providing constructive criticism. So, the food is good so I'm giving 2 stars to reflect that, but the staff and atmosphere deserve zero stars - or maybe it is the management who don't look after them well such that they really don't like working there.

  I am extremely disappointed with the service today. After placing an order for delivery, the food never showed up. I followed up by phone and was told the driver would be contacted, but two hours later, I am still waiting with no food and no update. Now, I am unable to reach the restaurant at all. This is completely unacceptable business practice.

  I don't know what they did but their chips are jusy sooo good, and that curry is just heavenly. Such good prices as well
