  Avoid this place like the plague or you'll be slapped with a £70 parking charge for taking 2hr15min to do your shopping. Shopping in an unfamiliar store as a wheelchair user takes longer. Thanks Tesco!

  Complaint Regarding the Quality of Food Sold and the Condition of the Store Yesterday, I purchased a pack of Polish smoked ham from your Tesco store. When I opened the package at home, I was absolutely shocked to discover that the ham was covered in mould. What makes this particularly concerning is that the use-by date shown on the packaging is not until October. In other words, according to the label, this product should have remained perfectly safe to eat for a considerable period of time, yet it was already spoiled and potentially dangerous to consume. Thankfully, I noticed the mould before anyone in my family ate the ham. I do not even want to think about what the consequences might have been had we consumed it. This raises a very obvious and serious question: how is the quality of food displayed for sale in this store being monitored? Are chilled products, their storage conditions and the integrity of their packaging actually being checked? I must also say that I was extremely disappointed with the general condition of this Tesco store. I had not visited this particular store for quite some time, and after this visit I was left with the impression that it has changed considerably — and certainly not for the better. There seems to be a lack of order, proper supervision and attention from management. The overall impression is that nobody is particularly concerned about the condition of the store or the standards being maintained. This is certainly not the Tesco I remember or the standard of quality and food safety that customers should reasonably expect from Tesco. Selling a mouldy meat product that is still well within its stated use-by date is not simply an inconvenience. It is a serious food safety issue. I would therefore like Tesco to investigate how a product in this condition was allowed to remain on sale, to check the storage conditions of this particular product range, and to take appropriate action to ensure that this does not happen again. I should also point out that we are now leaving the area. I am not prepared to spend a significant part of my day travelling back to the store, particularly as it would mean going completely out of our way, simply to present the spoiled product in person. I am therefore providing photographs of the product, its packaging and the use-by date as evidence of what I found. I believe these photographs should provide sufficient evidence for Tesco to investigate the matter properly. I expect an explanation as to how a product in this condition was allowed to be sold, as well as an appropriate response from Tesco. I consider this situation completely unacceptable.
