  Has the best atmosphere of any of the supermarkets in Beverley, takes a huge Jurassic dump on Asda round the corner which is like a morgue most days!

  Appalling customer service from your Beverley store on Thursday 28th May, went in to do our full weekly shop, full big trolley full and it was about 10pm, all tills were closed except the very small basket only tills and not one member of your staff could be bothered to help, Also we wanted to purchase a few bits for another family member and pay by the cash they had given us, that was not possible as all open tills were card only, again appalling service, The store is supposed to be open until 10.30 pm so why were the manned tills closed before 10pm not everyone has cards and to also close the bigger trolley self tills is just ridiculous.

  Bigger than my local store so lot of different things to look at, including a large clothing section. Also good veggie section....impressed. Staff were friendly.

  An interesting afternoon shopping, not so much due to the frustration of poor use by dates and some of our favourite items being out of stock, but when we went to pay... well life got interesting! The checkout assistant, (a lovely but somewhat chatty person) had a few customers waiting in the queue, but this didn't stop her from taking a personal interest in all of the customers. Firstly, the chap in front of us was clearly known to her and had been suffering poor health recently. We got to overhear the long conversation between them regarding MRI scans, a shadow on the brain, treatment progress and the place that he had had quite a long tube inserted... We waited patiently through all this, despite really wanting to get our shopping paid for and to head home. Eventually it was our turn to check out, we had the usual 'Hello' and 'How are you ?' chat and talked about the discounted wine offer, then she scanned our club card and the checkout began.... All was going at a reasonable pace and smoothly until she started scanning our dog treats. "You've got a spoilt dog", she commented and enquired what sort of dog we had... We quickly showed her a photo (which is my phone background pic) , so no time was wasted by showing her a pic of our little dog Tony. Then she stopped scanning our shopping and then... (in a very unexpected item in scanning area) got her phone out and proceeded (despite having a queue of other customers) to play us 3 videos of her dog. Watching one dog video while others were waiting to be served was a tad awkward, as we were holding up other people, but we had to watch 3 dog videos and comment on them before scanning resumed.. We finally left and the next customers began checking out, what they had to chat about we can only guess... 🤔

  Called in to use the currency exchange desk at Beverley branch about 2:30 today. It was unattended and there was just a handwritten sign saying back just before 3:00, despite it being advertised as open 10 - 4. Unable to hang around waiting for 1/2 hour as things to do, so went elsewhere and received prompt service.
