About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

My one star is simply for one reason, their disabled toilet is not safe for disabled people; they cut their red safety cord and it no longer touches the ground. I don't recommend having an emergency at this establishment. Aside from this its greggs. It's exactly the same here as it is everywhere else in the country

Hygiene is awful. Despite being fairly quiet the tables weren't clean. Had to ask for table to be wiped and floor swept. Bin also overflowing...but 3 staff members stood behind counter chatting. Came here by accident because the cafés in the sovereign centre were closed.

Popped in here this Morning while visiting Dorset and staying in Boscombe. Greeted by a professional, happy, efficient, polite female member of staff. Give her a payrise and sausage and bacon roll with a Tea, it was very nice, freshest bun ive ever had from a greggs, recommended!! Will be back for Breakfast while in area!! EDIT visited again on my way home , spoke to a nice chap sounded an ozzie, helped me out and told me a meal deal was available for another few pence, great customer service! One of the best Greggs in country for customer service and efficiency! Give them all a payrise!!

At 9 am you don’t expect the bacon baguette to be rock hard. Also the lady that is the team leader does she ever smile. Also her tone to customers is shocking. Think she need to be retrained in customer services

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
