Appalling Customer Service & Shocking Food Hygiene Violation!
Visited the Victoria Centre (Clocktower Restaurants) branch this afternoon and had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Subway. I am a loyal, regular customer, but the way I was treated today by the staff and manager was completely unacceptable.
I needed help ordering a Footlong Plant-Based Patty at the kiosk because the app QR code wouldn't scan. The staff assisted me, but they entered the order incorrectly. I trusted them, sat down, and 2-3 bites into the sandwich, I realized they had given me a Veggie Delite with no patty.
When I brought it back to the counter, the Sandwich Artist flat out refused to help and told me to just buy a new one. When the manager came over, it got even worse. The manager actually suggested taking my already-bitten-into sandwich back behind the counter to just slap a plant patty onto it!
When I pointed out that this is a massive cross-contamination risk and a total violation of food health and safety regulations, he completely brushed it off. He then told me to pay an extra £3 for the patty to "sort it out," completely ignoring the fact that I had already redeemed a coupon for a full footlong and that his staff made the mistake.
To try and charge a customer extra to fix your own staff's blunder, while simultaneously offering a solution that breaks basic food hygiene laws, is highly unprofessional. Zero care for customer service or food safety. Avoid this branch until the management gets properly trained!

When I complained that i found some piece of stone, they ignored and said it can be anything, and got busy with other customers. They didn’t try to take responsibility or provide replacement. I ended up throwing my footlong. Manager came out and shouted we have so many orders going on, please take this somewhere else. Seriously nowadays this is the standard of subway. Never going to this place again, avoid at any cost.

Been using subway for my lunch when in the office every Monday for the last year but since the introduction of the sell service screens the time get get your food has tripled. I have been on really busy days & got my food within 10 mins now you order and wait 15-20 mins each time with only 2-3 people in front of you.
I really enjoy my subway lunches but I think this will have to stop as I’m loosing a huge portion of my break waiting around now
The food isn’t as well made now you aren’t watching, can have no input on customising aside from choosing the food - can’t ask for small amount of mayo.
Zero interaction with staff - also too busy with online orders & making the photos look nice.
Every customer looks fed up waiting
Sorry subway it was a wrong move

I went in on Friday night to get my dinner, and what is it with these new order here things, the staff wasn't very helpful and the place looks dirty so I will not be coming back again.

I really like this location and come here often with friends, so this review is meant to be honest and helpful. The sandwiches are always good, and the staff are friendly and polite — no complaints there.
However, since they introduced the ordering machines to make it more like a “fast food” setup, it actually feels much slower. On my last visit, I waited around 15–20 minutes for a sandwich, which seems a bit ridiculous for a place that’s supposed to be quick and convenient.
I understand that decisions like this probably come from higher up in the company rather than the individual store, but the new counter setup and machines seem to have made the whole process less efficient. Several other customers were also complaining about the wait times.
I still enjoy the food and the team working there, but I really hope they reconsider the current ordering system because it’s slowing everything down.
