Great service today - Angela the manager was on duty! Gave some feedback on a previous visit which was positively reviewed.

I visited Subway Melton Mowbray at approximately 15:45 intending to sit in and have a late lunch. This was well within normal trading hours, especially considering the store does not close until 18:00.
However, upon arrival, the dining area was already closed, with a sign stating that seating was unavailable. As a result, we were unable to eat inside and chose not to purchase food at all. This meant the store lost two customers.
Customers generally do not want to eat hot food outdoors, particularly when seating is normally available and the business is still open for over two more hours. Closing the dining area so early is inconvenient and defeats the purpose of offering a sit-in option.
This was disappointing, as Subway is often chosen specifically for a quick sit-down meal. Earlier communication, reduced seating, or a clearly advertised cut-off time would help manage expectations and avoid losing customers in the future.
Edit 03/02/2026 - i though I would give this place a benefit of a doubt turned up at 1525 seem the same sign on tables saying closed in asked the server “is the seating area really closed” they answered yes - I protested and said “but your open to 6” - the server shrugged her shoulders. Clearly don’t give God customer service or even satisfaction. Two customers again who likes to dine in.
So far this place has lost £40 in takings. Well done! Late lunch working people!
