    I am a regular customer at the Subway Chelmer Village and, as part of my role in brand management for a cosmetics brand based within Asda, I visit the area at least twice a week. Unfortunately, my most recent visit yesterday 11/04/2026 was quite disappointing and not up to the standard I have come to expect. To begin with, the conduct of one member of staff (a young woman wearing glasses) was rather unprofessional. She was speaking sharply and raising her voice at another employee, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere in the shop. It appeared as though she may have been in a senior position, but even so, such behaviour is not appropriate. Staff should be guiding and supporting colleagues, particularly those who may be new, rather than reprimanding them openly. Regrettably, this manner extended to customers as well. When placing my order for a footlong chicken tikka sandwich, I found myself having to repeat it several times, and her tone came across as impatient and dismissive. As someone who visits regularly, this was quite out of character for the establishment. In addition, (I was concerned by the state of the toilet facilities. There was no soap available for handwashing, nor was there any tissue paper. In a food establishment, these are basic necessities, and their absence raises questions about overall hygiene standards).As paying customers, we expect not only good food but also courteous service and a clean environment. On this occasion, the experience fell short on both counts.I trust that these matters will be addressed promptly so that the usual level of service at this branch can be restored.

    Really poor service at this Subway today. I ordered three sandwiches — a pretty simple order — but the whole process took way longer than it should have. While my first two sandwiches were in the toaster, the guy working decided to start taking bread out of the oven instead of finishing my order. When the sandwiches came out of the toaster, he just left them open on the counter getting cold while he stopped to make coffee for an older couple who had literally just walked in. There was no reason to stop halfway through my order to serve them first. When the third sandwich finished toasting, he again left it sitting open getting cold while he continued serving the couple and even took their payment before coming back to my order. By this point my food had been sitting there for ages. Then when it came to paying, the total first showed £30.50. After I’d already handed over the money, it suddenly changed to £32.90 with no clear explanation. I honestly didn’t even argue because the whole thing had taken so long and my food was already cold. Overall this was probably the worst Subway ordering experience I’ve had. Food left open getting cold and attracting flies while the staff served other customers mid-order. Really disappointing.

    I regularly visit this subway but that will now stop. Not only has the price gone up (£7.20 for a salad????!!!!) but the quantity has gone down. The staff were busy completing online orders so didn't bother doing my order correctly. The salad was just thrown into the box, which ended up being half full. £7.20 for half a salad??!! Not happy! You have lost a customer.
