Regardless of the circumstances, that kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable, deeply unprofessional and frankly shocking to witness from someone in a managerial position. It was so uncomfortable and upsetting to watch that it genuinely made me want to leave the store immediately. Employees deserve to be spoken to with basic dignity and respect, not publicly screamed at and humiliated. And unfortunately, the customer service was just as appalling. Some members of the team seemingly struggle to understand even the most basic requests, which is embarrassing for a business that expects customers to spend their money there. I would strongly advise people to think twice before visiting this store. The way I witnessed an employee being treated was absolutely disgraceful.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
