About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Had high hopes for this greggs - just what retail park and area needs but this is my 4th time this has happened. It’s only 11.30 - not even lunchtime and they had two baguettes flavour out. Eveything else sold out and empty. If it had been a one off, fair enough but the 4th time. I asked if they could make something for me and said no. Really poor operational planning for something that isn’t that difficult.

A really busy new Greggs with plenty of inside and outside seating. Food was great and is replenished regularly on the shelves. Their meal deals are great value for money and their loyalty app is easy to use and one of the best. Loads of free parking in a very busy retail park. Toilet facilities that are clean and well maintained just like the rest of the shop. Staff have always been pleasant and helpful when we have been in.

This greggs has got to be worst I have ever been In the food was horrible the coffee was the worst I have ever had it was bitter and I mean unbearably bitter. I am a coffee lover so I know a good cup and that was the worst I have ever had. The staff were very bad. Will not be back.

I was in Greggs today, buying 5stak bakes and chicken bakes as well as sausage rolls for a do. I just had to post how lovely the staff were, especially the lady , who i think was the manager....id to wait for food coming out the oven, and as I walk with stick she told me to take a seat and brought me a cup of tea.....very kind....had to say well done!!

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
