  I’m sure I can’t be the only customer who is inconvenienced by those dreadful security tags that surround the bottles of alcohol. My wife and I attempted to make a substantial purchase of a large number of items today. As always, I scanned the items as my wife handed them to me. She moved a bottle of alcohol whereupon said tag started screaming very loudly. Not only were we inconvenienced but there was an extremely senior lady in a wheelchair next to us who was obviously distressed at this appalling racket. I attempted to attract the attention of the till assistant who was obviously in deep conversation with her colleague who was attending to the other auto tills. I asked if she could stop the noise whereupon she rather rudely informed me that she couldn’t do it until we had completed scanning our rather substantial trolley. This raises a number of questions. 1) I appreciate that for a large company such as yourself, customers are a necessary evil and must be tolerated. However, surely this contempt for us doesn’t stretch to causing us distress whilst scanning our products. (And before you say there are manned tills, they were all very busy with customers doing very large shops!) 2) The concept of trust. Colinton Mains Tesco opened in 1999 which was about the same time I moved to the area. In those 27 years there have been very few days when I have not bought something from your store. I’m sure the staff must be familiar with their regular customers. So I really fail to understand why I am not trusted sufficiently to pay for a bottle of alcohol until I’ve been well and truly deafened. Again, I appreciate that, as a customer, I’m a gross inconvenience to your company but there it is. 3) The staff on duty that day were surly and rude. Again, I appreciate that I am an inconvenience but surely, since I’m effectively doing their job since you refuse to man the checkouts properly they can at least have a modicum of respect. Any, we got all our shopping in Asda which was a much more pleasant experience.

  At the adjacent garage there is a Jet Car Wash. Its branded "TESCO JETWASH". It has significant known problems with the contactless payment machine. On the 27th Aug It took 2 payments one of £6 and one of £8 but failed to start. The attendant in the shop told me it was only pending and wouldnt be taken to payment. He was certain about that. So i paid for an £11 was in the drive through. Today the Jetwash payment was processed leaving me out of pocket by £14. When i enquired at the petrol station today for a refund both the shop attendants told me the jetwash was nothing to with Tesco and I would have to contact the contractor who provide the facility. This despite large signs saying "TESCO JETWASH". I wasnt buying into that and 5 conversations and explanations later I was eventually refunded by a duty manager in the main Tesco store who fudged a transaction to get rid of me! I happened to speak to some customers usong the Jetwash who all said they had trouble with the contacless payment machine and hoped they had not been double charged. Someone is making money out this and its not the Customer or Tesco by the looks of it...verging on scamming customers. Tesco know there is a problem they should take it down.

  I really like shopping at this Tesco. It’s well organized, so it’s easy to find what you need, and the store has a great selection of products. The staff are always friendly and make every visit a pleasant experience.
