Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Nothing like biting into a cold sausage roll at 9 in the morning to make you feel like a prize chump for paying full price for yesterday's food

This has to be the worst Greggs shop. They simply switch off the click to collect feature at almost all times of the day. I can never find this shop on my app, just wastes my time. Also the sandwich counter is always empty and if you request to make one they simply refuse saying someone’s on the break. They don’t want to make sandwiches at all. Staff is very rude too.

I had a really positive experience here and wanted to highlight the amazing customer service. I ran into some issues while trying to make my payment, which was a bit stressful, but the staff were incredibly patient and understanding throughout the whole situation. They didn’t rush me or make me feel uncomfortable at all—instead, they stayed calm, helpful, and reassuring until everything was sorted.
On top of that, the service itself was excellent. The team remained friendly and professional, and my order was prepared quickly and correctly. It’s not often you come across such genuine kindness in a fast-paced environment like this, and it really made a difference to my visit.
Thank you to the staff who were on back shift the two guys especially i couldn't see their names but yeah for turning what could have been a frustrating experience into such a pleasant one.

Greggs are my favourite bakers and it's always nice to get a free coffee or sausage roll when you use the app. Highly recommended. Always my favourite place to grab lunch whenever I am working in Edinburgh , Linlithgow or Stirling

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
