- KNKaren NapperAug 5, 20265.0What a lovely experience in Tesco Gilesgate today 4 .30pm/5pm. I had my 94 year old mam in one of the Tesco electric scooters. For the first time ever my mam and myself went to two separate tills, this was because we were worried we would go over the 3hrs parking limit. A lovely checkout man not only helped my mam unpack the basket at the front of the scooter but also helped my mam pack her bags and help put them back into the scooter basket. I wish I had got his name, we were so grateful. All I can say was it was about 5pm and he was a mature male. We want to say a big thankyou. We got everything unloaded into the car just in time. I hate supermarket shopping but his help and kindness made it such a positive experience. I would also like to say to Tescos that 3 hrs with an elderly/disabled person is not long enough. We looked at the clothes and then did our shopping, for mam its like a day out and she likes to take her time. In the end we were panicking, worried we would go over the time. If we had wanted to go in the cafe as well it was no where near long enough. I havnt a clue why its timed when there are hundreds of empty spaces. Thankyou again to that lovely gentleman for helping us. P.S. what a difference the wide parking spaces made. Much easier for me to get mam and myself out of and back into the car, eventhough the disabled spaces were full, we got parked near and loads of room. Coscos eat your heart out.

Would he 6 stars if it was 24 hour opening still but that’s just the way this country is going. Can’t blame Tesco for that.
