Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. - EPE J PJun 18, 20253.0Flying insects all around the doors and the food is better at the Market Place. Some of the fruit bowls aren't checked and the staff seem totally suspicious. Big lights above the tables which aren't needed for such a small area and there are always ambulances and police claiming with management problems at the near by shops with no explanation of how they work or finance the buildings. One of them from the Market Place looks and sounds like something bad has happened to him always making mistakes I thought it was a one off but heard another customer saying something too. Another worker said they sell at Newcastle Airport and Northumberland Street.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
