About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Excellent customer service, always consistent with a special mention to Charlie at 1B Dryburn View, Durham. He is to helpful and polite, thinks ahead, cup holder without asking and a lovely engaging smile even when there is a queue out the door. I might add that the rest of the staff are always very helpful as well. I take a cappuccino to my 98 year old Mum who is in local residential care every week, she so looks forward to it. Staff at the Arnison are also very polite. Well done to Greggs putting customer service at the forefront and employing staff like Charlie who is an absolute asset to Greggs.

We went for breakfast 14.02.26 at around 9.15am. We were served by a young lady with dark hair. She was totally charming, so cheery and happy. She made our morning by brightening it up on a cold morning. Well done.

Jax is just an angel. I come in after having a big operation at Durham, I spilled my tea and she couldn't do enough to make it all good just smiles, even poured me a fresh cup.

Ordered on uber eats twice in a row from here. Both times I ordered two lattes, both times I only received one. Can you please make sure your employees actually read the order. If it says x2 next to an item IT MEANS 2 OF THAT ITEM IS IN THE ORDER. Like damn it is a really simple thing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
