A relaxed spot on Sutton Road, Sutton Pointz. The Springhead is the perfect village escape for both locals and passing city goers. Our traditional pub offers rustic country charm, fused with cosy corners and alfresco dining to enjoy with the whole family.
Whether enjoying a crisp pint in our orchard beer garden under the summer rays or indulging in our renowned Sunday roast next to the fire inside, you'll feel at home and catered for any time of year.
We make a point of booking in for the Sunday carvery everytime we are in Weymouth and Portland. Well run, clean and friendly establishment in a beautiful location, think stream, ducks and dorset style cottages. The carvery is just fab. Quality ingrediants, and the best gluten free roast around, homemade yorkshire pudding and gravey which isnt common for those needing a gf option. Lovely staff - Kathy was our waitress today. Would recommend this place without hesitation. 10 stars!

Do not hesitate to check this place out, whether it be for drinks or food!
We had such a brilliant time! We popped into this pub last year just for drinks and loved the vibe, so we came back this year for food — and wow, we’re so glad we did. We were a table of six celebrating a 60th birthday, toddler in tow, and from the moment we arrived Emily and the young lad looking after us were absolute stars. They joked with us, made us feel totally welcome, and were amazing with our little one.
Me and my partner ordered the chicken and honestly… it was next‑level. One of those meals where you look at each other mid‑bite like, “Is this actually as good as I think it is?” Spoiler: it was.
Emily, you are a customer service superstar. We felt so lucky to have you looking after us today — you made the whole experience feel special. We’ll definitely be back next time!

This was our first ever visit to The Springhead, popping in for some lunch on a Tuesday.
The menu promises much, but, for me didn't really deliver. I struggled to attach anything "Korean" to my Korean Chicken burger. It was just a pretty bland burger and looked a bit lost on the plate, alongside a few chips.
I then had the crumble and cinnamon cream (£7.50) and was really disappointed when it arrived with a pile of squirty cream on top, which duly disappeared before my eyes, - as it tends to do. The crumble itself was on the dry side.
The whole experience was saved by brilliant staff, who were super welcoming and engaging. Good choice of real ales too. The pub has a really comfortable feel to it and just needs to work at its food preparation.
We have not been put off and fully intend to return, possibly for the Sunday carvery next time.

This is the perfect country pub. The welcome is warm (if a little quirky!) and the pub is that rare combination of cozy and warm but also light and airy. It has several areas: a cozy snug, the main bar, and a more formal dining room. There are two log burners in different areas giving the place warmth and soul. The food is excellent and definitely at the upper end of pub food. My steak and ale pie was delicious, and served with a rich gravy which definitely felt home-made, as did the pie. There is a good selection of wines and beers and nothing is too much trouble for the hard-working team-members, Kathy and Jo.
The village is very lucky to have a place of this quality and I’m sure it draws people from miles around. Highly recommend if you in the area (or even if you’re not!)

On our hols and decided to have a Sunday roast. We phoned to book a table as we have a dog and were not sure if they were allowed. Arrived to.a lovely welcome and were seated quickly. Carvery was our choice although there was a menu with other dishes. Waited while everything was replenished. Given our ticket and well, spoilt for choice . Beef, turkey and pork. And everything you can imagine plus more to add to your plate, which I might add was a big deep.plate. I choose Turkey and pork hubby had just beef. Very generous portions. Off I went and sat down to enjoy this magnificent feast.
We had our dog Mae with us and she got a dog bowl with assorted meat bits as did every dog in there .
All in all a lovely place with great happy smiling staff. You will not be disappointed and we will be back when we are this way again.
