Tucked away in the village of Preston, just outside Dorset. A welcome retreat for locals, walkers and Jurassic coast explorers. Come for the food and drink. Stay for cosy, characterful vibe.
Whether you're stopping by after a walk, meeting friends for drinks, or settling in for a relaxed meal, you'll always find a warm welcome at The Bridge Inn.
Our family of 13 were there on Bank holiday Sunday..
We were all delighted by the girl waitress and her husband??partner??
And the landlady who couldn't do enough for us!!! We've got been to Weymouth since we were younger., Very happy memories for us all....

Absolutely shocking service. Booked a table for 7 at 6pm. Ordered 15 minutes later. 55 mins later we asked when food will be ready and told about 5 minutes. 25 mins later got told it's on its way. A further 5 minutes later I looked through the kitchen window and saw the chef chucking food on a plate and the servers rearranging it to make it look respectable. A further 5 minutes past and I saw one of our orders waiting to be delivered to our table and realised I'd seen it there 5 minutes ago. I spoke to someone who seemed to be in charge and she gave me the same crap excuse as previously told that they had many unexpected people ordering food in the garden and that they were short staff. Absolutely rubbish there were no people eating in the garden.
We eventually told them what they can do with their food, not paying for the drinks we had and walked out. Both the male and female who seemed to be in charge could not answer when I said it's the worst service I've ever had in England. Absolutely shocking service all round. Not once did they update us not asked us if we wanted anymore drinks. Avoid!!!

Extremely disappointed. We had the Sunday roast. Not very busy @1.00pm so service was good, which was more than I can say about the food. Roast beef was excellent although not very warm.Yorkshire puddings very terrible, burnt, very crisp with no Center, inedible. The veg was only warm and had to ask for serving spoons. Got one!!! The wife had roast pork which tasted lovely.
Had a mini desert and coffee The merangue was finger thin, about 2 teaspoons full, but the hot fudge cake was nice. Coffee was only warm, and she had spilt mine in the saucer over the sugar sachets..
Overall disappointed especially as we were celebration a birthday and an anniversary

We visited on a Saturday to celebrate a hen do at The Bridge Inn, and the owners and staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so friendly and accommodating, which really helped make the celebration special.
Later in the evening there was a DJ set from Vinyl Vibes, a fantastic local duo, and they brought such a fun atmosphere to the night. Great music, lovely people, and a brilliant vibe all round. Would absolutely recommend!

A busy, atmospheric pub. Food was amazing, portions size really good and staff were lovely. Very attentive in making sure my dog had space at the table, moving a chair for us so she would be a protected from passing customers feet. They had a disco on tonight playing really good 70’s and 80’s tunes. A little loud for my elderly mum and her husband who struggle with their hearing but not a problem otherwise. It might have been helpful to be told that the disco would be happening, when my mum booked, so they could have decided whether they wanted that level of noise but again, it wasn’t an issue for my younger self and I enjoyed it.
