  Rude server, when I asked if they had any Dorset gins not only didn't know but asked if he should remember all 40 gins for me. Food greasy and fish (not like trout I've had before) overcooked.

  After a disastrous meal at the Smugglers Inn, what a refreshing change to come here. Everything done right. Lovely pub, lovely food, and very attentive staff. Also so much better value. As a visitor to the area it was nice to find such a hidden gem. LOVELY, WELL DONE ALL!

  A big group of us assembled at The Springhead for a Sunday lunch. Set amongst trees up a small lane by a brook with a contingent of ducks to welcome you, the place has already got you hooked. The welcome was excellent even though they were in the middle of a busy lunchtime service. We had a drink outside whilst waiting for our table and went in before our booking time. Sundays menu is mainly a carvery with a veggie choice and a fish dish. Most had the carvery and it was superb. There were three meats (you can choose two) accompanied by a huge range of veg, potatoes and yorkies. Everything was cooked to perfection, one of the best carvery’s I’ve had, and I’ve had a few! The service was excellent, the staff know their job and do it very well, all were professional and friendly going above and beyond to make sure everything was ok. Price wise, you couldn’t complain at the £20 carvery. I just wish it was closer to home as it would be a Sunday staple.

  We love The Springhead. We pop in and indulge in the carvery on a Sunday most times we visit Weymouth. Not many places will guarantee succulent beef, moist stuffing, perfect pigs in blankets and dauphinoise to the for - these are promises made and promises kept at The Springhead! The last couple of visits, Kathy has looked after us, and this review is just as much about her and how at home she made us feel as it is about the food. She's attentive, thoughtful and fun. Thanks Kathy and the team, we'll be back!

  Went to the Springhead this evening with a group of friends for diner. The bar staff are attentive and friendly. The food was mediocre at best, and the waiting service was slow, which would have been ok since our group wasn't in a rush, but the person in charge was utterly inhospitable and downright rude. I cannot see any good reason to go back to this pub and I would encourage anyone looking for a good pub for dinner to look elsewhere.
