  a very special night was spoiled due to the food being to much on plate know one gives half a plate of chips which gave no room for anything els. no onion rings with the stake asked for ham hok after waitng told none left. ordered stake being last one very chewy could not have desert for £25 not good

  Lovely local pub just a 1 mile walk away from our holiday accommodation in Weymouth. We arrived as the friday night meat raffle was taking place and the energy in the pub was brilliant. Great food, served quickly- lots of beers/ciders to choose between. Meal and drink was less than £30 per person, could be cheaper if not having alcoholic drinks.

  Food and ambience were great, service a bit of a pity. Been told to sit at the very corner because we have no booking while the rest of nice spots are empty. Might be back for the food but hoping the service will get improved.

  Last night staying at a nearby holiday park, we wanted to try somewhere local. This place was 7 minutes away. Mixed reviews online. I really wanted to have a nice experience at this pub as we're frequent visitors to the area and like to visit places to eat out. The pros - the staff were friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere. Food prices are reasonable. The pub was clean and looked inviting. The cons - service was generally poor. The pub wasn't busy when ordering (5pm), but still took 45 - 50 minutes to arrive for what was essentially 3 uncomplicated pub meals. No communication regarding any delay. Once the food had been served no one came to check if we were satisfied with it. Sirloin - unacceptable steak. Cooked as requested, but much of it was grisly and inedible. Staff offered to feed this back to the kitchen but did nothing to redress the meal cost despite the fact we had to leave half the steak. The flat mushroom served with the steak was inedible. It tasted as if it had been cooked in some sort of vinegar. Absolutely disgusting for what should have just been grilled / fried mushroom. Maybe a dressing was added to it? Chicken fillet burgers - poor chicken quality. I would argue this wasn't fillet. It tasted cheap and frankly unappealing. Fries - OK, but I thought the portions served were small. Scampi - well received and enjoyed. Dessert - lemon meringue tart - gorgeous. The food, when it arrived, was well presented, but sadly fell short of expectations. We found the lighting and decor to be very dark. I like to see what I'm eating when I go for a meal. We should have complained during the meal, but the staff should have also checked. We won't be back unfortunately unless service and meal standards increase. Loads of potential here but they'll have to step up their game. This place should have been filled with holidaymakers.
