We went for a family meal here today for Father's day. There was 10 of us all together. We enjoyed a really lovely meal and was given fantastic customer service from Connor. My Youngest Son has Autism and Connor was very good with him. He understood his needs and didnt mind that he was a bit blunt at times. Beautiful pub with lovely garden areas. Food was delicious. Will definitely be going again. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Super hôtel typique anglais, j'ai adoré la décoration.
Je regrette peut-être l'isolation où on entendait fortement les clients du pub et il faisait très chaud dans la chambre, un ventilateur ne serait pas de refus.
Stayed here recently in the large family room. The room itself was spacious, clean, and felt fresh, which was a great start. However, there were a few issues that really affected our stay.
Unfortunately, none of the TVs were working, which wasn’t ideal when travelling with a 5-year-old. We were also disappointed by the noise — the kitchen extractor fans could be heard clearly from the room until around 11pm and then started up again at 7am, which made it difficult to properly relax.
We also ate at the pub and found the food to be fairly bland and quite expensive for the quality provided.
That said, the staff were lovely throughout and I have no complaints there. The pub itself was very nicely presented and the garden area was also pleasant.
Overall, while there were definitely positives, the room noise, non-working TVs, and disappointing food mean I probably wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
I love giving good reviews, and I simply couldn't wait to write this one...
The traditional gift for a 7th wedding anniversary is wool. My husband got socks—practical, there's not much else to get, really. But, as always, he came up with a present that I could never have imagined... There's a place in the UK called Wool!
He booked a two-night stay at the Countryman Inn, just a short drive from Wool and all the other amazing places of interest Dorset has to offer. Monkey World, Corfe Castle, Blue Pool, Lulworth Castle and Cove, Tyneham village and the Bay, you name it.
We were allocated a dedicated parking area and received a very warm welcome upon our arrival. We were shown to our room and had all the available services explained to us. Overnight guests have a separate entrance if they don't want to go through the main pub.
The room's decor and furniture matched the countryside theme and were very tasteful. Our king-size bed was really comfortable. Despite the warning that this was a working pub open until late, and with our window facing the garden dining area, we could have heard a pin drop once the bar had closed.
Our bathroom was very clean with a very powerful shower. All toiletries were provided in abundance, including a razor and shaving gel for men. I appreciated the hairdryer, too. The big window meant there was never any steam in the bathroom, and there was also a motion-sensor light for the nighttime.
Speaking of the evening, you could indulge in a little nightcap that was available on the landing for all guests, as well as bottles of water and milk for your beverages if you didn't fancy a sachet from the tray in your room. These little touches just made my heart sing.
If your breakfast isn't booked with the room rate, it doesn't seem to matter; we could just turn up in the morning and pay separately. I definitely ate more than I needed! The almond croissants, fresh juices, and a selection of hot breakfast options from the menu simply had to be tried.
After a day full of adventures—and visiting Wool, of course—we also dined at the Inn. Just like the breakfast, the food was delicious, very filling, and came out really quickly.
My faith in hospitality has been restored by our stay at the Countryman Inn, and that's not only because of the place and location. It was truly due to the staff looking after us. Everyone serving us was really helpful, friendly, and, most importantly, always wearing a smile.
It was one of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in. Thank you for a lovely, unforgettable weekend.
First impressions from the outside were good, but as soon as we walked in, we were met by an incredibly arrogant man. I’m not sure what his role was, but his attitude towards us was terrible. It felt like he didn't care about our custom at all, despite the fact that we had three rooms booked and intended to eat there as well.
A few hours later, when we went to order food, we encountered the same man. He was straight-up rude, telling us we couldn't order with no attempt to be polite or professional. There was no, "I’m very sorry, but we are at capacity today"; it was just a poor attitude. That changed only when we mentioned we were staying at the hotel—he clearly hadn't remembered us from checking in three hours earlier.
When the food arrived, one of our orders was wrong. I understand that mistakes happen, but the waitress was quite rude and acted as though it was our fault. That was "strike three."
The grand finale, however, was the room. Having not yet used the bathroom, I went in to find that the toilet had been poorly cleaned. Remains from previous users were still evident on the seat and in the bowl. It was honestly gross.
Despite these upsets, the young man behind the bar was very friendly and upbeat, as was the older lady serving food. The woman at breakfast, who I believe was new, was also incredibly nice and helpful—thumbs up to those staff members. The other man could certainly take some "people skills" training from them. The room itself was actually very nice, which made the unclean toilet even more disappointing.
