Great pub with helpful staff. It was really busy which is a good sign of a good pub. Prices were very reasonable.

We went on a lovely weekend away with some friends and ended up at The Ship in Distress for drinks and food. The bar staff were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The food was great no complaints at all. Everything was delicious, and the portion sizes were very generous. We also happened to be there during a live singer event, and I must say the vibe in the pub was fantastic. People were singing along, dancing, and just enjoying a great atmosphere all round. If you ever find yourself in the area, I’d highly recommend checking this place out. It’s one we’ll definitely be going back to!

Went in for a drink yesterday 1st May with some friends, we met in the beer garden and had a couple each. Bar staff were great and friendly. However leaving the beer garden via the garden exit we were cought up by the landlord giving us verbal abuse and threatening behaviour because we exited the exit? Yes you read that right he really gave us verbal abuse for going through an exit! I asked him to calm down but this Inflamed the situation and his threats were going to be physical if we didn't leave. We were also told we were barred! We won't be going back.
