This has to be a record; is greggs running some kind of social experiment here??? The manager Carolyn is unbelievably rude, argumentative and has no customer service skills at all. She works with a certain bravado and attitude in which she thinks she is better than everyone walking in and all customers are a major inconvenience to her day. I was in today for a coffee as we were driving through Dumfries and immediately caught a bad vibe from the manager, I was with a friend, he politely said 'Could I please have a bacon baguette'. The manager replied 'No you can't' bluntly; not in a funny. Just very clearly trying to embarrass him because she got a kick out of it. I then approached the counter and asked for a white americano, to which she snapped 'that doesn't exist', I replied pardon. She repeated 'A white americano isn't a thing, do you want a white coffee' I was so baffled by her stupidity I just paused. She went on to say, 'go into Starbucks and ask for a white americano and theyll laugh you out of there' while laughing in my face. I told her politely that a white coffee and a white americano are two names for the same thing; and that I've been ordering white americanos from Starbucks for about 10 years now. And she snapped again 'Its not a thing, a white americano isnt a thing'. A simple Google search could show anyone who has been living under a rock that a white americano is just a black coffee with a splash of milk in it. Regardless, I just couldn't believe it. I can appreciate the machine only says white coffee. I don't even care that she didn't know what I was talking about. I just don't understand why her goal wasn't to make me the correct drink but rather to belittle me and get a kick out of it. There are countless reviews saying just that, so I will be forwarding this onto Greggs customer services also in case she is the one who handles the Google reviews. I just feel bad for the new young employees trying to make a couple bucks as a first job at Greggs, that have to deal with that pretentious, argumentative, disagreeable, unpleasant manager that has had awful reviews for years. I'm not one to write reviews in fact this is the first bad one i have written but I just really hope some action is finally taken.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
