  My compliments to the chef! Stopped off here on a warm Saturday afternoon for a quick pint & a bite. The crab crostini was the highlight; fresh & beautifully presented. The salt & pepper squid was equally fresh & not at all rubbery. The Miso mayo was a little salty, but overall it was very enjoyable. Can't wait to go back for another crab crostini!

  We had a wonderful meal at this pub. The food was absolutely delicious, and everything was cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. We would definitely recommend this pub and look forward to coming back soon.

  Absolutely recommend a stay in this beautiful place - tucked away out of the in between Plymouth and Tavistock the perfect get away. We stayed one night en route to see my brother in law - room was lovely we slept very well and breakfast was fab in the morning. What more does one want !

  We enjoyed the pub. It’s a lovely establishment and the food was really good. All exceptionally presented and very tasty. Unfortunately we felt that there were issues with the wait staff and this impacted our review score. On being served we ordered drinks. These took a long time to be delivered and during this wait time we ordered our meal. The meal promptly arrived but we still had no drinks delivered to the table. When the drinks did arrive, one of them was wrong as we’d specifically ordered a non alcohol cider but had been served a full alcohol drink. This could have proved awkward if we hadn’t noticed. Again, the meal was very nice and cooked beautifully. When we’d finished and the plates had been cleared, we decided that we might like a dessert and wanted to look at the menu. Unfortunately, nobody came to ask if we’d like dessert and it was 15 minutes before we caught someone’s eye. We felt that your staff (notably very young, and there’s nothing wrong with that) were quite inexperienced and were in need of an older head in the dining room to guide them. It hasn’t put us off of returning to your lovely pub and we will visit again in the next 3 weeks.

  Great stay! Review based on price point and value for Money. We stayed one night as a touring motorcycle group. Warm, helpful welcome from Hilary, thank you!. Plenty of parking. Food was superb, and the beds really comfy. All staff were friendly and attentive. Would stay again, no hesitation.
