We found ourselves needing somewhere to stay last minute and we were in luck when the Burrator Inn had a room available. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the owners and showed to our room. The room was spacious and clean, and had every little touch you could need for a nights stay, including fresh milk in the fridge and a night cap table with whisky and port! There was also a fan in the room which was much needed in summer. We had a nice chat with the owners at the bar, a lovely dinner and a few drinks in the garden. The garden is spacious and well decorated with heaters and blankets available for when the temperatures drop in the evening. The owners of this Inn have really thought about all the finishing touches to make this a welcoming and homely place. We would definitely recommend a visit or stay here if you are driving through the area!

Solo 1 night stay & dinner. Upon approaching the hotel it looks pleasant and well kept. Dog friendly Inn, I’m
Wondering if dogs are also welcome for guests staying in the hotel.. my room did smell a bit of dogs.
Anyway the room was nice, large Victorian style rooms with high ceilings & sash windows. Bathroom was large and well presented. Shower was good.
The food was class. I had the Calamari to start and the Korean Chicken for mains. Both excellent.
Was very busy around lunch time. But thankfully quietened down in the early evening.
Staff are very young, a bit clueless but it’s what it is.
Would stay again. Definitely eat here again.

Don't normally do reviews but today with the quality of the food I had today it would be insulting not to show some appreciation. Had an amazing sirloin steak and the peppercorn sauce was sensational especially adding a Yorkshire pudding in to dip it in 🤪
My partners beef Roast also looked and smelled amazing but unfortunately she didn't want to share so can't comment lol.
Very friendly pub with a warm welcome and great service with great food on a warm sunny sunday in the countryside can't ask for much more than that.
Would highly recommend a visit and will definitely be back again soon.

We have been back to The Burrator Inn time and time again, and that’s rare for us. It has such a beautiful atmosphere – calm, quiet, and cosy. The food is of an exceptional standard, and the outside is beautifully maintained with plenty of green space to relax and enjoy. We will definitely continue to return and would highly recommend it.

Kindness that went far beyond hospitality
Our car broke down right outside The Burrator Inn around 7pm, and we ended up waiting for the AA until 1am. By the time we thought about ordering food, the kitchen had already closed — but the owner and chef went completely out of their way for us. The chef kindly made us delicious fresh sandwiches, and the owner refused to take any payment. They stayed open long past midnight, kept checking on us, and offered help whenever we needed it.
The food was lovely, but it’s the people that make this place truly special - warm, generous and genuinely kind. We couldn’t have broken down outside a better pub! Thank you so much to the whole team. We’ll definitely be back under happier circumstances.
