  Not one to write reviews, but had a dreadful experience last night with a lady named “Vicky”. On the website it states that the store shuts at 11pm. Myself and my partner finished work at about 10pm and drove over to Tesco to get some essentials for our family. When going to pay at 10:50pm we were greeted by this vile woman who snatched all our shopping of us and started scanning it herself at the self checkout. This resulted in her launching about 3/4 of our items on the floor and having a face like thunder. My partner apologised as things were taking a little while to scan and she bit back with “it thinks the stores closed” and followed with “ I’m so glad working for charity this evening, helping you two pack your shopping for free”. We bit our tongue the whole time until the end when I requested to speak to her supervisor. Matt seemed to be quite understanding and we were assured this matter would be dealt with, with her line manager. I would like to hear back personally from someone higher up and be assured this has been done. Working in hospitality myself I would never dream of ever speaking to someone the way she spoke to me. Especially when you know the stores are open until 11pm. I understand nobody wants to be at work that late, but that’s what you signed up for and that’s the only chance some people get to go to the supermarket. There’s no point making people feel awful for doing so. What a hideous personality she had.

  An older lady by the name “Marie” tried to tell me I had to be 25 to buy alcohol. I said to her the sign above her that said 25 means to challenge 25 and she then disputed this and told me I could “be sent down” A very delusional lady, even the staff around her acknowledged that she wasn’t correct in her statements. Overall a very bad experience but I do commend the other staff members for understanding.

  This is my local Tesco , I’ve just called in and we have lost another load of manned checkouts replaced by self service. There are only 4 manned checkouts left now. When are these places going to realise that lots of their customers do not want them? I feel sorry for the amazing staff who will probably be loosing their jobs and hours. they have been the reason I use Tesco . It’s as if making billions of pounds in profit in a cost of living crisis is not enough for the shareholders 🤬
