Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. - CCCatAug 23, 20261.0We have been going to Greggs on Alfreton Road in Derby for a little while now as its on our way to a particular destination. The first time we went in everyone was polite apart from one person who had attitude. Since then we hope this individual isn't on shift, however recently the attitude he has with not just us but other customers is really awful. I dont think he is the manage but he has a chip on his shoulder. Some of the savoury food is meant to be at least warm, but on a few occasions its been like its just come out of the freezer. When I have asked about it being cold they have said the appliance is broken. The only consistency is the drinks. I honestly do believe the shop is a nice shop its just one individual and the broken appliances that really let it down.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
