We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.

I asked for 2 bavarian slices and requested a box for them to which the female member of staff ignored, I thought she might not have heard me so let it go taking it for granted that she'd bag em up with the protective film over the icing, oohhhh no she did not and she wrapped them in the bag and patted the paper onto the icing topped slices which ripped the icing off the top when me and my friend at work tried to take them out. This is not the first time I have been served by her and to be quite honest her customer service skills are an absolute zero. One bit of advice for the woman in question. IF YOU DON'T LIKE WORKING THERE THEN LEAVE otherwise do your job properly and at least try and be civil with customers.

Unfortunately for Gregg's I don't eat the utter garbage they call food and wouldn't if it was FREE!! However the woman wearing thick black frame glasses, has a voice like a fog horn! Whilst stood at the Post Office counter which is 15 meters away, I thought at first that a klazomaniac had entered the store! But then realised it was coming from the Gregg's counter. Obviously she loves the sound of her own voice and thinks those within a mile radius do too! Horrendous!!!!!

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
