I have been shopping at this store since it opened. Due to changes being made at the store, it is a total mess. People, some disabled, are walking round bemused, unable to find things. Some products are all over the place and selection is much reduced. Management responsible for this fiasco should be sacked. Previous store upgrades have never been this badly managed. I will start going to Aldi, Lidl and M&S now.

Absolutely shocking they have spent god knows how much on the supermarket great but there is nothing at all on the shelves I won't be going back ill go to aldi or lidl or even morrisons in hyde absolute joke waste of petrol as I went specifically for groceries and there was absolutely nothing there they will have lost so much as customers including myself left their trolleys in aisle and went somewhere else

I love the staff, but the store appears to be redesigned by (and I'm only guessing here) a Joker-style cartoon villain determined to drive the local population completely insane. The rollout came in two stages: first, months of randomly moving items for no obvious reason; then full chaos mode, turning the whole store upside down and putting related items as far apart as possible. If you ever reach the point where you understand why multipacks of crisps aren't with the sharing bags, it's probably game over for your higher reasoning. It's been a wild ride, but for the sake of my sanity, I'll be shopping at the other end of the high street from now on.

I simply must congratulate whoever approved the new floor plan. Truly, it takes a special kind of visionary to look at a perfectly functional supermarket and think, "You know what this needs? More obstacles." The new layout is nothing short of an avant-garde art installation, specifically, the kind where you wander around confused until you question your own sanity. The checkout experience deserves its own award category. The basket self-service area, is only open until about 20:00, after which they dramatically block the entrance like it's a crime scene. To reach the basket tills, you must now navigate through the trolley self-service area, which makes absolutely no sense unless the goal is to make paying for groceries feel like an escape room challenge. The staff are so baffled by this new floor plan that they've started questioning me for receipts when I'm literally just trying to move to the till to pay. Even the employees are being defeated by the checkout labyrinth. Whoever signed off on this layout genuinely needs the longest Performance Development Review in retail history. Very long. Without biscuits. And let's talk about the stock, because this enormous building is basically a beautiful empty shell. Despite looking like a retail cathedral, it doesn't actually stock most of what I buy. Tallow & Ash laundry cleaner? Nope, that's a Mottram trip. XS white vests? Absent. The candle range? The entire home range? Let's call it "curated minimalism" as in, minimally stocked. I accept this branch is mainly food and wine, but then I may as well pop to Lidl two minutes down the road, where I can buy food without needing a map and compass to find the checkout. Bravo, Tesco Glossop. You've turned grocery shopping into a competitive sport.
